ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Not enrolled in any K-12 school system AND…
    • Need a High School Equivalency (HSE) certificate (have not earned a H.S. diploma) OR…
    • Demonstrate need for refresher on adult basic education skills (have earned a H.S. diploma or HSE and tests below a 12.9 grade level on TABE/CASAS assessment) OR…
    • Demonstrate need for English skills (by taking BEST/CASAS assessment)

Age specific requirements:

  • 18 years of age with withdrawal forms from last school attended, and parent/guardian permission. Parent/guardian must be present at registration or student must provide proof (Utility bill in their name, marriage license or rental agreement) he/she lives separate from parent/guardian.
  • 17 years of age with withdrawal forms from last school attended, and parent/guardian permission (must be present at registration)
  • 16 years of age with withdrawal forms from last school attended, court ordered documentation, and parent/guardian permission (must be present at registration)

ABOUT THE ADULT EDUCATION & LITERACY ALAMO CONSORTIUM

The Adult Education & Literacy Alamo Consortium is here to guide you on the path of reaching your education, training, and employment goals. Our vision, “Success for Adult Learners,” is all about you. Whether you want to learn to read, obtain your High School Equivalency, learn English, get career training, or prepare to enter college, we have a place for you. In-person classes are offered at various locations throughout Bexar County and surrounding counties. We also offer online classes, live with teachers, and self-paced online lessons that you can access from any location at any time on any device that is connected to the internet. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Welcome Adult Education and Literacy Alamo Consortium Staff Members! Adult educators, thank you for being part of the AEL Alamo Consortium! As lead organization for the Consortium, Restore Education’s role has multiple facets.

  • We work to maintain each program’s compliance according to TWC rules.
  • We provide service provider support as your programs continuously improve student services.
  • We cultivate relationships in the community to raise awareness of our services and opportunities for adults in our communities.
  • We develop and bring you professional development that has immediate impact in your classrooms.
  • Finally, we lead standardization efforts to maintain consistent, high quality services across all providers.

Our efforts are all on target to achieve our Consortium vision of SUCCESS FOR ADULT LEARNERS, however our students define that for themselves.
